What are powder brows?

Powder brows, is a form of semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows that shares many similarities with microblading, but uses a soft graduation of colour from the start of the brows (by the inner corner of the eye), through to a darker and fuller colour pigment towards the centre of the brow. This gives a powder-soft, natural look to the brows, making it a great option for those who prefer a softer brow effect, or those with very sparse natural brow hair who need to replace brow volume.

Kseniia's artistry begins with a detailed consultation to understand her client's personal preferences and to ensure that powder brows are the semi-permanent makeup look that her client wants and is suitable for.

If you are unsure which brow is the best for you, Kseniia offers permanent and semi-permanent makeup consultations – please contact her Gerrards Cross clinic for more information.

Powder brows is an ideal choice for those who are seeking brow definition with volume. It is also perfect for clients who need greater volume in their brows than microblading offers.

Kseniia uses her artistic skills to advise her clients if they aren't sure whether microblading or powder brows is the better semi-permanent makeup option for them, to ensure they leave with a look that perfectly fits their personal style and look.

A powder brow treatment is suitable for all skin types.

Who is suitable for a powder brow treatment?

Do powder brows hurt?
Nobody wants a painful treatment, Kseniia included! This is why she fully numbs the skin of the brows and surrounding area before treatment. Kseniia uses that time while your skin is numbing to map out the brows of your dreams, using her artistic skills, to ensure you are happy with the shape and angles that she has planned for your face.

You will feel some gentle tugging as Kseniia moves the skin around your brows and pulls it taut, and a gentle dragging sensation. The best powder brows should never have to mean a painful, uncomfortable treatment.

In the few hours after your treatment, your brow area may feel a little sore, but this will quickly disappear.

Powder brow retouch and colour boost service
If you have had your brows treated with a powder brow treatment before, Kseniia offers a service to touch up fading brows and boost pigmentation and definition.
How much is a powder brows treatment?
A powder brows treatment with Kseniia costs £380, including consultation, pre-treatment patch test, aftercare kit and perfecting session (recommended 4-6 weeks post-treatment).

A retouch and colour boost costs between £200-£250, depending on how long it has been since your last treatment. Kseniia also offers removal of old pigment from £100, if you are dissatisfied with another technician's work or the shape of your brows from a previous treatment elsewhere. She also offers asymmetry correction of permanent makeup.

Before your powder brows treatment

Kseniia requests that her clients avoid tweezing, waxing, plucking or any electrolysis on the brow area for a week prior to a treatment.
Clients should avoid the sun, and wear a high-factor sunscreen in the weeks before their treatment. Deep cleansing facials, peels or scrubs should be avoided for at least two weeks prior to treatment.
Retinol and Vitamin A products should be discontinued for a month before treatment. Botox or dermal filler to the forehead area should also be avoided

If you are travelling to Kseniia beauty studio in Gerrards Cross, please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before your appointment.

Any skin conditions, such as hyper or hypo pigmentation, dermatitis or eczema should be discussed before treatment. A full and frank disclosure of anything that you think may impact your treatment can help to ensure perfect results.

Powder brows aftercare

AFTERCARE
Kseniia gives all her clients thorough aftercare advice following their treatment and a complimentary post-treatment aftercare kit to take home
⠀⠀⠀Keep the area as dry as possible for 10 days post-treatment – avoid cleaning the area after treatment and if you do have a shower, keep it quick and ensure your brows are kept dry. Kseniia gives all her clients a shower shield in her aftercare kit to keep your brows protected.

⠀⠀ ⠀Avoid sweating – when you shower, use cooler water than usual and keep the bathroom well ventilated. Avoid saunas or swimming, and any activity that may cause you to perspire.

⠀⠀ ⠀Avoid using makeup around your brow area. Take extra care when applying foundation to your forehead as this can slide during wear.

⠀⠀ ⠀You will notice your brows progressively darken after treatment. This is entirely normal and does not reflect the final outcome. Your brows may also look larger than you anticipated. Again, this is completely normal and a result of residual swelling. The final look will shrink down and look completely natural, once healed.

⠀⠀ ⠀After a few days, you may notice the pigment beginning to scab and peel. It is extremely important to not pick at the scabs and to let them heal and fall off naturally. Do refrain from scratching your beautiful new brows. In your aftercare kit, you will find wipes, cream and applicators to keep your brows at their best.

⠀⠀ ⠀After around 7-10 days, you may notice your brows start to fade – almost like they are about to disappear. This is part of the natural healing process. It will take around four weeks before the skin is fully healed and your beautiful new brows will be at their best.

⠀⠀ ⠀At this stage, you may notice some inconsistencies in the pigment – this is completely usual and due to the natural inconsistencies in everyone's skin. A follow up appointment will balance any asymmetry and any unevenness.
