What is microblading?

Microblading is the technique of using semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows that gives long lasting, natural looking results. Gone are the days of harshly tattooed eyebrows, using unnatural pigments and solid shading. Microblading uses individual hair strokes, made by hand, using natural, safe and non-toxic pigments to give clients the brows of their dreams. Microblading utilises a lighter touch than tattooing; pigments are not placed as deep into the skin, meaning that they gently fade away after around 12-18 months.

Kseniia takes an artistic approach to microblading her clients' eyebrows – she works with them to truly understand their personal style and what they hope to achieve for their brow look. She conducts thorough permanent makeup consultations, to ensure that her clients leave her brow studio in Gerrards Cross with the brows they had always dreamed of.

Kseniia's skills as an artist ensures that your microbladed brows work with your face, not against it, taking into consideration your unique facial features and proportions for the best possible result.

Kseniia works from her High Street beauty clinic. Gerrards Cross is located north - west of London, in Buckinghamshire and is easily accessible from London and the north Home Counties.
micro
blading
Microblading can be used to treat all manner of skin types (although please do note that if your skin is very oily, choosing powder brows may be a better option to consider). The pigment that Kseniia uses in her semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows is medical grade, organic pigment, that is vegan friendly.

Kseniia also offers men's microblading, and asymmetry correction of permanent makeup.
Who is microblading
a suitable treatment for?

Microblading is suitable for anyone who is unhappy with their natural brows. It is a technique that is perfect for remedying over-plucked brows, or to replace the hair and natural pigment which both fade as we age.

Is microblading painful?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The skin is fully numbed prior to treatment. Kseniia uses that time while your skin is numbing to map out the brows of your dreams, using her artistic skills, to ensure you are happy with the shape and angles that she has planned for your face.

During the treatment, you will feel some gentle tugging as Kseniia moves the skin around your brows and pulls it taut, and a gentle drag, as if someone was pulling a ball point pen over your skin. Good microblading should never have to mean a painful, uncomfortable treatment.

In the few hours after your treatment, your brow area may feel a little sore, as if you have mild sunburn. This will quickly disappear.

Microblading retouch
and colour boost service

If you have previously had your brows microbladed, Kseniia offers a service to touch up fading brows, balance any eyebrow asymmetry and boost pigmentation and definition.

How much does microblading cost?

A single session of microblading with Kseniia costs £400, including consultation, patch test, aftercare kit and perfecting session (recomended 4-6 weeks post-treatment).

A retouch and colour boost costs between £200-£250, depending on how long it has been since your last treatment. Kseniia also offers removal of old pigment from £80, if you are dissatisfied with another technician's work or the shape of your brows from a previous treatment elsewhere.
Before your microblading
treatment

Making sure that your skin is perfectly ready to be microbladed is the first step to a perfect treatment. Kseniia requests that her clients avoid tweezing, waxing, plucking or any electrolysis on the brow area for a week before they are due to have their treatment.
Clients should avoid the sun, and wear a high-factor sunscreen in the weeks before their treatment. Any deep cleansing facials, peels or scrubs should also be avoided for two weeks prior to treatment.
Retinol and Vitamin A products should be discontinued for a month before treatment. Botox or dermal filler to the forehead area should also be avoided.
Saunas, gyms or runs – any workout that leaves you feeling hot – should be avoided for 24 hours before treatment.
Any skin conditions, such as hyper or hypo pigmentation, dermatitis or eczema should be raised before treatment. It doesn't mean that Kseniia won't be able to treat you, but a full disclosure of anything that you think may impact your treatment can help to ensure perfect results.
Microblading aftercare advice
AFTERCARE
Kseniia gives all her clients thorough aftercare advice following their treatment and a complimentary post-treatment aftercare kit to take home.
Once you have had your microblading treatment, there are some golden rules to follow, to ensure you get the best possible results.
⠀⠀⠀Keep the area as dry as possible for 10 days post-treatment – avoid cleaning the area after treatment and if you do have a shower, keep it quick and ensure your brows are kept dry. Kseniia gives all her clients a shower shield in her aftercare kit to keep your brows protected.

⠀⠀ ⠀Avoid sweating – so, again, if you are going to shower, be fast and use cooler water than usual and keep the bathroom well ventilated. Avoid saunas or swimming, and any activity that may cause you to perspire.

⠀⠀ ⠀Avoid using makeup around your brow area. Take extra care when applying foundation to your forehead, as this can slide during wear.

⠀⠀ ⠀You will notice your brows progressively darken after treatment. This is entirely normal and does not reflect the final outcome. Your brows may also look larger than you anticipated. Again, this is completely normal and a result of some residual swelling in the area. The final look will shrink down and look completely natural, once healed.

⠀⠀ ⠀After a few days, you may notice the pigment beginning to scab and peel. It is extremely important to not pick at the scabs and to let them heal and fall of their own accord. In your aftercare kit, you will find products to keep your brows at their best.

⠀⠀ ⠀ After around 7-10 days, you may notice your brows start to fade. This is part of the natural healing process. It takes around four weeks before the skin is fully healed and your beautiful new semi-permanent makeup for your brows will be at its best.

⠀⠀ ⠀At this stage, you may notice some. Inconsistencies in the pigment – this is due to the natural inconsistencies in everyone's skin. A follow up appointment will perfect your beautiful new brows.
